Paneer bhurji

This is an extremely popular dish as it tastes terrific and is extremely easy to prepare. Paneer is very easily available in the market and you need to get paneer that crumbles easily. I prefer making my own paneer as it is very easy to do so and you know what has gone into your paneer. I will find any excuse to use turmeric so when I boil the milk to make paneer I add half a spoon of turmeric powder to it so I get this beautiful golden paneer.

Ingredients 
Crumbled paneer 400 gm
Onion – 1 (diced small)
Tomatoes – 2-3 (diced)
Ginger – 1 tsp grated
Green chillies – 2 (chopped fine)
Coriander – 2 springs (cleaned and chopped)
Green peas – 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Chat masala – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Kasturi methi – 1 tsp crushed 
Chilli powder – to taste
Salt – to taste
Oil – 1 tbsp

In a kadai heat the oil and add the cumin seeds. When brown add the chopped onions and ginger and fry till translucent. Add the tomatoes and green peas and continue cooking by covering with a lid. When it is cooked add turmeric powder, chat masala, garam masala and salt and mix well. Now add the crumbled paneer and turn off the heat. Mix well after adding the coriander and kasuri methi. Serve with hot chapatis. Serves 6.
